All wood, stains, and paints of this piece are original. The mirror is bordered by a large ink-stained wood type block from c. 1910. The pattern suggests a diverted river and canyon. This work can be hung in different ways. It is bold, mellow, darkly patinated, and modern, all seemingly contradictory, yet clearly visible.
